Today in American History - The War Department was formed in 1789 and 223 years later it is still going strong. With conflicts and operations on every inhabited continent, including North America, The United States of America has evolved into a massive military machine capable of reaching everywhere in the World on short notice and deadly accuracy. US spending on war and war related foreign aid is exponentially larger than all other nations combined, while at "home" the economy falters and We The People pay for this militarization of the world.
Today is also Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Mueller's 68th birthday. He has presided over the nation's premier law enforcement agency since just one week prior to 9/11. Since then he has overseen the implementation of several constitutionally questionable Congressional and Presidential acts that were claimed to be for the benefit of saving Americans from "terrorists".
