Yet another re-post from my facebook
notes. This one is a brief history of the corporation that is
primarily pursuing the development of the Pebble Mine in SouthWestern
Alaska's Bristol Bay. I am reposting to ensure that the information
is put out there for as many people as possible, sharing knowledge so
to speak.

This article will probably get me
labeled as a conspiracy nut, whatever. I was asked the other day
while I was flipping some burgers, “So who really runs PLP?” The
initial answer of course is to say John Shively, but let’s be for
real. The genealogy of PLP is about as complicated as a thorny rose
bush, with twists and turns and of course blood. But it all started
way back in 1869 when a sickly little boy named Cecil B. Rhodes was
taken from his home in England to live in Southern Africa.
Over the next 40 years, the De Beers Company that was founded by Rhodes flourished in diamonds and gold at the suffering of the indigenous people of Southern Africa. This was exactly how he intended, he reverently believed that as a British subject, it was his ordained mission to restore the former colonies of Great Britain through economic warfare and cultural genocide.
In 1927, Earnest Oppenheimer took control of DeBeers and his family still has management interests in the company. Ten years prior, Oppenheimer had partnered with American J.P. Morgan to form the Anglo-American Corporation. By the end of the 1940s, Anglo-American had become the most powerful minerals extraction company in the world and remains so to this day.
History lesson aside for now, current operations by Anglo-American PLC in Africa and South America have drawn attention from the United Nations and several human rights advocacy groups. The ideals that established this conglomerate and are the cornerstone of its business model are disgusting to say the least. But this is just one of the development partners in the Pebble Project, so why taint the whole thing with one bad apple?
All of the partner company’s in this project are related, imagine that. Rio Tinto is actually an Anglo-Australian offshoot off Cecil Rhodes’ estate. This company has long been involved in environmental destruction and human rights violations. Another partner company, Mitsubishi Corporation is the largest Japanese conglomerate and also has a history of questionable business practices including labor camps and coercion. The management team for this project consists of several persons that were involved in the Congo mine and New Guinea mine projects that resulted in violence towards local indigenous peoples.. Hunter Dickenson is the true management & planning entity, all the rules are set by these guys. Even their COO, Marchand Snyman was employed as a manager in New Guinea for Anglo-Platinum. Shall I keep going?
In short, the mining industry is corrupt and cannot be trusted; they have already proven this in Alaska and other US sites and at the Pebble Prospect specifically. But, here we have to resist foreign domination and fight for our resource that is naturally & readily available . . .Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon
