#AmericanStatusUpdate 5-24-21

I need to redefine all the things I hate today
Politics that fail from a president derailed
I hate the shit economy, it might as well be sodomy
I know that in the end, I'm expected to pretend
But I can't relate to your verbal idiocy
No one's in control when the government's the enemy
So light the fuse
Impose your views
Consfearacy
Is anarchy
Actions of hostility
Breeds conformity
Annihilation will begin
Extermination from within
So light the fuse
Impose your views
Consfearacy
Insanity
I need to redefine how I see the world today
Seems that all the war didn't even up the score
It's only mind pollution, there is no resolution
Still I know that in the end, I'm expected to pretend
That I can't think for myself, blame it all on someone else
Half hearted smile while you look the other way
I can't relate to your verbal idiocy
No one's in control when the government's the enemy
Enemy!
So light the fuse
Impose your views
Consfearacy
Complacency is your demise

#FridayFunk

As many of my readers and friends may know, I am an avid music fan and even dabble a little bit on the guitar some.  Most of the music, or as I prefer to cal it 'muzak', that I like tends to be in the head banging genre.  I grew up in a household that was mainly filled with classical and old time country and western.  In my early teenage years I became attracted to heavier stuff like Led Zeppelin, AC-DC and some punk.  As I grew older I moved away from the British sounds and found myself preferring good ole' American bands like Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth.  The sounds of those 6-strings grinding away with melodic bass and vocals was really captivating to me as an angry young man.

Even as I have passed the ripe young age of 50 and become a 'responsible' adult with all manner of obligations, I still like to headbang. But I also enjoy other genres of muzak as well, but nothing grabs me like metal.  I've even started to like some hybrid muzak that mixes metal and rap. I should also confess that I've always been a undercover rap fan... not the gangsta' rap crap though.  My first recollection of liking a hip-hop song was the classic 'Rapper's Delight' from the 'Sugar Hill Gang' and then some rap masters from the 80s like the Fatboys, NWA and yes... even Tupac. Anyways.... the point of this post is to share some Spotify links to a few songs that I keep in a couple of playlists.

Too Much For Radio?

So... lining up the muzak for next week's ManicMondayShow on KDLG 670AM DLG-AK  I was looking for a theme and an old band that I once was a fan of way back when came up... Lords Of The New Church.  So I scrolled through their music back to their 1982 debut album that I had a vinyl copy of and this song fits perfectly into the show, but I fear it may be a tad too much for public radio even though it contains no cursing.  Check It Out:

Oh Well...

Oh Well... It Wasn't Working As Intended Anyway.  The intent was to grow a non-partisan citizen media cooperative in Alaska.  But with the founders deciding to politick instead of spreading news, it all went downhill.   Anyways... Let me suggest this new avenue of creative expression:
