13Below . . . ❅ ❄ ❆

Damn it was cold this morning.  Made me glad that we spent the time to replace windows and siding last summer.  But, makes me feel for those less fortunate.  When I awake to the sound of the alarm and stumble downstairs to grind the coffee, I know that others aren't so warm.

Here in Alaska, we are dependent upon the oil and fuels and byproducts harvested from all over our state.  This funds the state government and provides jobs and accompanied industries.  But, we pay some of the highest fuel costs in the world.

Why doesn't Alaska have processing facilities capable of providing a supply for Alaska?  50 years of exploration and exploitation and Alaska has to import oil? Are you as perplexed as I on this?
