Genie In A Pipeline . . .

Last week I mentioned several times the issue of “Why” the United States government seems so hell-bent on starting up a war with Syria.  Upfront the Obama administration says that any action by US forces is aimed at humanitarian relief for the people of Syria.  Bombing Syria because it bombed itself is just about the most worthless excuse for starting a military conflict as I have ever heard.  It is so reminiscent of the first two Gulf Wars and the lies expelled by Our government 12 years ago.  But it really is more of a déjà vu than most folks realize…

Subject: The US Invasion of Syria Is Coming Soon
Israel is destroying the eastern supply lines and escape routes to/from Damascus in preparation for a US invasion of Syria. It is no secret that Cheney has had a decades long dream of building a pipeline from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean Sea. Now that the neo-con's favorite butt-boy, Ahmed Chalabi, has used his position as Iraq's Minister of Oil, along with his moonlighting job as an Iranian covert operative, to secure the eastern half of the project for Halliburton, Syria is the only thing that stands in Cheney's way.
Notice how Bush and Rice have been stepping up the anti-Syrian rhetoric while smoothing over differences with Iran lately? Look for a lot more of that soon.

In 1967 Israel took control of a Syrian region called the Golan Heights.  Since then they have administered the area as if it were their own territory.  This is clearly in violation of International Law, but nothing has ever really been done to rectify the situation.  In 1990 things began to change as shale oil and gas were discovered.  Syria raised concerned with drilling in the area because of the potential damage to the water supply.  Israel gets about 15% of it’s water from melt flow that comes down from the plateau in the Spring as does Syria.

However… in February of this year, the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Water Resources granted an exclusive license to drill for oil and gas to a New Jersey corporation named Genie Energy.  The arrangement allows the company to explore and develop hydrocarbon resources over about half of the occupied territory.  What’s really interesting is the WHO of Genie…

Genie Energy Ltd. is an American energy holding company headquartered in Newark, New Jersey. It is a holding company comprising IDT Energy, a retail energy provider, and Genie Oil & Gas, which controls the company's ventures in oil shale research and development in Colorado and Israel. Genie was part of IDT Corporation. IDT spun off Genie to its shareholders on October 31, 2011, at which point Class B common stock of Genie Energy Ltd. began trading on the NYSE under the ticker symbol "GNE". [1]
Genie's founder, chairman and controlling shareholder is Howard Jonas. Claude Pupkin is the company's CEO, and Avi Goldin is its CFO. Geoffrey Rochwarger is Genie's vice chairman.
Genie previously announced a strategic advisory board whose members provide strategic direction and council. Its members include former Vice President Dick Cheney, Michael Steinhardt, Jacob Rothschild, and Rupert Murdoch.[2]”

A former Israeli Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Effi Eitam heads the local Israeli subsidiary of Genie Oil & Gas.  Mr. Eitam is also a former Brigadier General in the Israeli Defense Forces and member of the Knesset.  His ties with the radical Zionist groups are well known and his calls for eradication of Arabs are well documented.  In an interview given to a reporter from The New Yorker, Eitam said of the Palestinians… “We’ll have to kill them all!”

In addition to ensuring access to the Oil & Gas in Syria…War will also allow the builders of several pipelines to conduct business with a new government that won’t ask for as big a cut of the business.  Dick Cheney stands to make billions, as the pipelines will be need to be both built and maintained and his company Halliburton is poised to take charge and make the pipelines happen.
