The point is this; The Right To Free Speech Does Not Exist On The Internet. I wrote about this sometime ago in this post: http://jonrcorbett.blogspot.com/2016/02/free-speech-reminder.html?m=0
However... I've been led to believe that this incident goes just a bit deeper than my could be considered tasteless meme. It has become evident that fbook is actively targeting people that do not comply/bow to the more liberal leanings in American politics. So anything they can use as an excuse to suspend or deactivate accounts makes it that much easier for them to do so. Now don't get me wrong... I do not think that fbook is actively going after social media peons like myself, but they are actively categorizing users with 'confidence scores' and if a problem arises, that score is used to determine the severity of 'punishment'. Now... when you couple that with other factors such as individual users 'trolling' other users for other reasons; then it's easy to see how such a meme might get me suspended. Get your tinfoil hats on folks...
Last week I hosted a live radio call-in show on public radio ( http://www.kdlg.org/post/2018-gubernatorial-candidate-forum-0 ) with several candidates seeking to be elected as Governor of Alaska. We had a politically balanced slate of appearances arranged and all candidates were to recieve the same questions. At the last minute, the presumed Democratic Party nominee dropped out and then the incumbent 'Independant' Governor did the same. This came after complaints from local, regional and state level liberals about me hosting the 'forum'.
Now... I have gone for several years posting the same ole' types of memes and comments as the one shown above without any issue. Suddenly over the last weekend I started getting notices about reported comments and posts made by my personal account and the Infidelis Americans page. A few of these were marks as being 'sexual' in nature and then eventually 'hate speech'. Let be be very clear: I never post anything remotely sexual and the above referenced meme really isn't hateful, it's darkly humorous. To me this just goes to show that there's a double standard in American social media and mainstream media that is solely meant to deepen the alteady expansive crevass in American politics.
If you were offended by that picture... I can only say this to you: Pull up your big boy boxers/big girl panties and actually own up to the hypocrisy that is driving societal hatred. We're all in this sinking ship together and if your not trying to bail it out... please jump out and swim alone.
